You can build a database of questions that can be used in any test or course. Edjet LMS empower you to choose from 10 types of questions.

Create a multiple choice question

Multiple choice question allow learners to choose one answer from the available choices, only one of which is right. They're great for testing general recognition of a subject.

It is one of the most effective ways to test learners.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Multiple choice.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and enter one or more options.
  6. Mark correct answer by click a Correct switch.
  7. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  8. To add more answers click add Add below the answers.
  9. To remove answer click remove icon cancel.
  10. In the toolbar click save Save.

Create a multiple response question

Multiple response question allow learners to choose one or more answers from various alternatives. Questions of this type are more difficult than multiple-choice because learners don’t know how many answers to choose.

This type of question is great for increasing complexity of a test.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Multiple response.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and enter one or more options.
  6. Mark one or more answer as correct by click a Correct checkbox.
  7. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  8. To add more answers click add Add below the answers.
  9. To remove answer click remove icon cancel.
  10. In the toolbar click save Save.

Create a true or false question

This type of question allow learner to indicate whether the statement is true or false.

One of the easiest ways to frame questions in tests.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click True or false.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and enter one or more options.
  6. Mark the correct answer by click a Correct switch.
  7. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  8. In the toolbar click save Save.

Create a short answer question

For the short answer question type, a learner should know the right answer and enter it in the empty filed. This type of question is great for checking proficiency in a subject.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Short answer.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and enter Correct answer.
    Question is correct when learner enter the exact string including white spaces and case.
  6. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  7. In the toolbar click save Save.

Create an essay question

Essay require learner to write a freestyle text, using his own words. It's helpful for assessing writing and critical thinking skills.

Suitable if you need to get a detailed answer to the question, feedback, or a case description

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Essay.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and enter Correct answer.
  6. In the toolbar click save Save.

This type of question cannot be evaluated automatically.

Create an image hotspot question

For the hotspot question, a learner should mark the area in the image. This format engage users more than typical test questions do and allow you to check how they identify information visually, not just as theory.

Great for checking visual recognition.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Image hotspot.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and click Add.
  6. If the file is already uploaded in the Media Library, find the file there.
  7. If the file is placed on your device, click Upload in the toolbar and upload the file to the LMS.
  8. Select the image using checkbox.
  9. In the toolbar click check_circle Add.
  10. Click several times into the image to create a polygonal area to mark a correct spot.
  11. You can undo last step, click Back or pressing Ctrl and click.
  12. To reset the hotspot click Reset.
  13. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  14. In the toolbar click save Save.

Create an audio question

Audio is a question where learner should listen to a sound, voice, music or any other audio.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Audio.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and click Add.
  6. If the file is already uploaded in the Media Library, find the file there.
  7. If the file is placed on your device, click Upload in the toolbar and upload the file to the LMS.
  8. Select the image using checkbox.
  9. In the toolbar click check_circle Add.
  10. In the toolbar click save Save.

This type of question cannot be evaluated automatically.

Create a fill in the blanks question

This type of question prompts learner to fill in one or more blank fields in the text. This kind of completion question require that learners actually know the correct answer.

Useful when you need to check learners understanding of specific procedure, processes or rules.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Fill in the blanks.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. To mark words or phrases to fill, replace the text in the question word or words with the 5 or more underscores.
    Example question: My dog _____ fast! The frog can _____. The duck _____ swim.
  6. Click tab Answers and enter the words in the corresponding order.
    Example: first answer: “is”, second: “jump”, third: “can”.
  7. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  8. To add more answers click add Add below the answers.
  9. To remove answer click remove icon cancel.
  10. In the toolbar click save Save.

Answer is evaluated as correct when learner enter the exact string including white spaces and case.

You can create longer input by using more underscores.

Create a matching question

Matching question requires linking the items in the two columns. Helpful for matching appropriate words, facts and concepts with their description.

It is one of the most engaging types of questions for learners.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Matching.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and enter one or more options.
  6. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  7. To add more answers click add Add below the answers.
  8. To remove answer click remove icon cancel.
  9. In the toolbar click save Save.

Order of options in list are randomized when question is rendered to the learner.

Create a reveal question

A question where learner reveal options in a list. Left side of the list is revealed when the question is rendered. Right side is revealed after learner click.

Useful for learning language translation, synonym or other kind of one-to-one relations.

To create a question:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click school Courses and then Questions.
  3. In the toolbar click add New item and then click Reveal.
  4. Enter the Question.
  5. Click tab Answers and enter one or more options.
  6. Enter the Points – if correct value of correct answer.
  7. To add more answers click add Add below the answers.
  8. To remove answer click remove icon cancel.
  9. In the toolbar click save Save.

This type of question is not evaluated automatically.

Options to penalize the learner

You can set a question to use negative points to be subtracted from test score:

  • To penalize Learner for submitting incorrect answer enter points using Points – if wrong.
  • To penalize Learner for not submitting any answer click tab Advanced and use option Points earned when student did not marked any answer.
