Edjet LMS Server 6.4

Installation address

Installation address is a web address (URL) where the LMS is installed and accessed by the users.

Examples of valid installation addresses:

Installation address is composed from 2 parts: protocol and domain.

Protocol

Edjet LMS support 2 protocols:

  • https
  • http

Edjet LMS should be always installed to "https" protocol secured using valid SSL certificates.

Installing on unsecure "http" protocol is possible, but the SSO connector and OAuth connector cannot be used as they can't work without https enabled.

Domain

Edjet LMS should be installed on the domain, that meets the requirements for fully qualified domain name (FQDN).

Examples of valid domains:

  • lms.example.com
  • example.com

The domain (hostname) value is dependent on Apache SERVER_NAME value. In PHP, it can be retrieved as $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].

The domain must also match:

  • Server hostname encoded in the license key.
  • If your SSL certificates are domain validated (DV), the domain the certificates are issued to.

Please note: However the installation address can be changed, it is recommended to install the LMS using the real domain to avoid the change later.
