Activate automatic course resetting

Edjet LMS lets you re-certify your users and renew their certification for a course while their old certification is still valid.

The application periodically scans all issued certificates and performs a course reset based on their expiration date, allowing you to:

• re-assign course to user before a certification expires
• and notify user (and possibly other people) about it.

Find out how the resetting of the course affects user's data.

Steps to setup automatic course resetting:

1. In the menu click school Courses.
2. Find the course and click edit icon edit in the row.
3. Make sure the course is being selected.
4. In the toolbar click tune Properties.
5. Click Resetting tab.
6. Change Reset mode to Automatic.
7. Set When to reset the course to a number of days before certification expiration should the course reset for the user.
8. You can click notifications Set notifications to setup notifications to be sent to the user and possibly also other people.

9. In the toolbar click save Save and close.

You can change the settings any time and how often you need.

The changes in reset settings are propagated immediately, even for certificates that have already been issued.

Setup notifications

You might want to notify user and maybe also course instructor or other people about the need of retaking the course.

Time of sending of the notifications is relative to the moment of the certification expiration. If the user is already re-certified, he no longer receive the notifications.

Setup notifications to retake the course:

• Click notifications Set notifications.
• Click add Add.
• Set reminder parameters using options in Remind column.
  Set a notification scheme according to your needs (see example below).
• Click Add (+) icon in Message template column.
• Select appropriate message template like "Invitation to course – %%Course name%%" using checkbox.

• In the toolbar click check_circle Add.
• To set up multiple reminders click Add and repeat steps above.
• In the toolbar click save Save and close.

Example setup

Following example show a setup of the reset 30 days before certification expiration and sending out notifications in a meaningful manner.

When to reset the course:

• 30 days before

When to notify user:

• 29 days before
• 14 days before
• 7 days before
• 1 days before
• 0 days before/after
• 5 days after
