Connect Mail server (SMTP)

Superadmin info

In the Edjet Cloud, all outgoing email messages are sent via Edjet cloud emailing infrastructure by default. This option is not available to Edjet LMS Server.

Configuring a SMTP connection allow Edjet LMS to send all outgoing emails via any compatible external SMTP server. This options is available to both Edjet LMS Cloud and Edjet LMS Server.

This can be:

  • your own corporate SMTP server like Microsoft Exchange
  • 3rd party SMTP server like Gmail, Outlook.com, ProtonMail or many others

Setup the SMTP connector

To setup external mail server (SMTP) connection:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click settings Settings and then click settings_applications System
  3. Click tab Mail server (SMTP).
  4. Under section Email address enter senders_email
    This is your email address configured with your SMTP server to send emails.
  5. Under section SMTP server click checkbox Enable SMTP connection
  6. Enter SMTP settings and credentials.

  7. In the toolbar click save Save.

Username to authenticate to SMTP server

smtp_password

Password to authenticate to SMTP server

smtp_secure

Secured communication option:

  • SSL
  • TLS

Mailing limits

  • Limits are used only if Edjet cloud emailing infrastructure is in use.
  • If external mail server (external SMTP) is in use, no limits are imposed by LMS.
  • Messages are sent up to mailing limit, which is a total all-time limit.
  • If the limit is exceeded, messages will be created but not send (error is shown)
    You can check message queue by clicking Messages in the menu.

Check and raise mailing limits

How to check mailing limits and raise mailing limits:

  1. Sign in to Edjet LMS admin.
  2. In the menu click settings Settings and then click settings_applications System
  3. Click tab Mail server (SMTP).
  4. Under section Limit – mailing you can see, how much is used from limit.
  5. To raise limits, change the values for both users (System and Superadmin).
  6. In the toolbar click save Save.
