Edjet LMS Server 6.3

Setup Mail server (SMTP connector)

In the Edjet Cloud, all outgoing email messages are sent via Edjet cloud emailing infrastructure by default. This option is not available to Edjet LMS Server.

Configuring a Mail server (SMTP server) allow Edjet LMS to send all outgoing emails via any compatible external SMTP server. This options is available to both Edjet LMS Cloud and Edjet LMS Server.

This can be:

  • your own corporate SMTP server like Microsoft Exchange
  • 3rd party SMTP server like Gmail, Outlook.com, ProtonMail or many others

To setup Mail server (SMTP):

  1. Sign in as Superadmin.
  2. In the menu click Settings and then System
  3. Under section Email address enter senders_email
Note: this is your email address configured with your SMTP server to send emails.
  4. Under section SMTP server click checkbox Enable SMTP connection
  5. Enter SMTP credentials:
    • smtp_host – smtp server host name (e.g.: smtp.google.com)
    • smtp_port (default 465) – server port
    • smtp_username – username to authenticate with Email address to SMTP server
    • smtp_password – password to authenticate with Email address to SMTP server
    • smtp_secure – Secured communication option: SSL or TLS
  6. Click Save.

If SMTP connection is enabled but SMTP settings are missing or incorrect, sending email/s will end up with error/s.

Mailing limits

  • Limits are used only if Edjet cloud emailing infrastructure is in use.
  • If external mail server (external SMTP) is in use, no limits are imposed by LMS.
  • Messages are sent up to mailing limit, which is a total all-time limit.
  • If the limit is exceeded, messages will be created but not send (error is shown)
Note: You can check message queue by clicking Messages in the menu.

How to check mailing limits and raise mailing limits:

  1. Sign in as Superadmin.
  2. In the menu click Settings and then System
  3. Under section Limit – mailing you can see, how much is used from limit.
